Abstract

Utilization of multitemporal remote sensing data among others can be used todetermine thepattern of changes in urban expansion. One of the most important types of cities in urban systems isthe metropolitan urban area that covers several districts and cities. This is because the regiongenerally acts as the capital of the country, the provincial capital, and the center of economicactivities that are national or strategic. Understanding urban expansion at different metropolitanurban levels is important for expanding knowledge in times of urban growth and its impact on theenvironment. Aims in this study are: (1) utilization of multitemporal Landsat data for mapping urbanexpansion patterns, (2) knowing the effectiveness of object-based classification for mapping of urbansettlements and (3) spatiotemporal urban expansion pattern analysis in three metropolitan cities onJava Island.. In this study focused on three metropolitan urban in Java, namely DKI. Jakarta,Surabaya and Semarang. This study utilizing Landsat TM, ETM + and OLI image data to map urbansettlement land cover using object-based classification with Random Forest algorithm. Next,quantifying the typology of urban expansion and compare the spatiotemporal pattern of urbanexpansion during 2005-2015 on the results of land cover mapping. This research has found that (1)object-based classification with Random Forest algorithm is quite effective in terms of time of work tomap urban settlement cover on Landsat digital data having medium spatial resolution; (2) the threeurban metropolia is experiencing rapid and massive development and has a very variedspatiotemporal pattern; (3) Size of the city affect the pattern of urban expansion, followed by rapidexpansion of the region. Larger city size with relatively rapid expansion is more likely to experiencethe edge extension model, while smaller cities tend to develop with outlying models.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has diverse cultures such as folklore. At this time many folklore is increasingly forgotten especially by the younger generation, one of them is Timun Mas. This raises concerns about the extinction of Timun Mas folklore as Indonesia's cultural heritage. The cause of the younger generation to forget the folklore is due to unattractive packaging, as well as the entry of various games that come from outside which can also carry the content of foreign cultures. Therefore required a media that can pack the folklore so interesting to learn by the younger generation. The author gives an idea how to package the folklore of Timun Mas so interesting by using 3D gaming technology as an alternative of learning media. Folklore of Timun Mas is visualized in the game as interesting characters, appropriate gaming environment, and supported graphics and audio capabilities are sufficient. By using 3D games technology, users can play games that contain learning so that users will not feel bored. The results of this experimental study show that Timun Mas game can run on desktop devices, all 3D characters can be implemented properly. From the results of user surveys also shows that this game can serve as a learning medium, easy to use and has an attractive appearance.

Abstract

Forest certification is a market-based policy instrument aimed to ensuring that any traded timber is legal and derived from sustainably managed forests. Forest certification is not only applied to large scale forest management but also small scale such as community forest. This study aims: (1) to know the pattern of marketing chain of certified timber; (2) to know the actors involved in the marketing of certified timber; (3) to know the marketing constrains of certified timber faced by farmers. This research was conducted at Wana Lestari Menoreh Cooperative (KWLM) in Kulon Progo Regency. KWLM is a community forest cooperative that has successfully obtained a certificate of sustainable forest management with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standard since 2011. Data collection is done by: (1) in-depth interviews to actors involved in marketing of certified wood; (2) observation of each stage of certified timber marketing chain; (3) study documents related to marketing chain of certified timber. Data then analyzed descriptive method. The results show that: (1) the pattern of marketing chain of certified wood is simpler than non certified timber; (2) The actors involved in the marketing chain of certified timber are farmers, harvester, cooperation, PT SOBI, wood processing industry; (3) The major constraint faced by farmers in marketing of certified timber is a payment that do not made in cash as done by non-certified timber trader.

Abstract

The large contribution of MSMEs is as a driver of the nation's economy which is proven to be resistant to various shocks to the economic crisis. In operational records, MSMEs still use manual systems and there are even those that are not recorded properly. Even in the production process that functions to determine the cost of production and production control also still using manual methods. So that a computerized system is needed in the production process that can automatically calculate the cost of production, control the production and inventory stock. Based on testing and analysis, it can be proven that the applications built are very helpful to MSMEs, especially in the production process because data processing can be done quickly and accurately. With the computerized application system produced, it can monitor production results and control stock items.So that it can minimize the accumulation of goods stock production and the occurrence of empty stock for a long time. With this application system can also help MSMEs in determining the cost of production automatically.

Abstract

Soil erosion was happened caused by many factors, such as rainfall intensity, soil erodbility, steepness and length of slope, land cover, and conservation practices. In other case, the soil properties also influence the vulnerability of soil to be detached. This soil properties characteristics is classified as soil erodibility. Erodibility factor (K) from the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) in this study was the result of soil erodibility estimation or soil capability to be dispersed by rain. K factor was affected by soil organic, soil permeability, soil structures, and soil textures. This study was contributed in Serang Watershed because of the main fuction of this watershed to supply water resources especially in Sermo Reservoir in Ngrancah Subwatershed. This reservoir was used to distribute water and irrigation to all Kulonprogo District and especially to keep the sustainability of sedimentation of soastal area di Glagah Beach. All of soil properties was collected in each landform of Serang Watershed and was analyzed by laboratory measurement. By using K factor formula, the K value can be estimated. Geographic Information System (GIS) tools were used to map and represent the spatial information of soil erodibility of Serang Watershed. The result of this study showed that the high value of K factor was distributed in the area which has genesis of structural, denudated structural, and sedimented denudational. Furthermore, this study can be strived to analyze soil erosion hazard which was influenced by soil erodibility.

Abstract

Felling is an important aspect in forest management. The effectiveness of felling affects forest management, wood harvesting in particular. For that reason, it is highly needed to understand the effectiveness of using different chainsaws for felling the trees. The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness and work performance of chainsaw Stihl MS 381 and 070 on felling activities. This research was conducted in KPH Ngawi Perum Perhutani regional division of East Java with Swietenia macrophllya as its forest stand. Then, work time and work result on wood harvesting obtained was taken as research data employing repetitive timing method. Data analysis was conducted by calculating the work result, calculating the volume using Wood Volume Table for mahogany (tabel isi kayu mahoni) and applying T test for testing the significant difference of working performance between Stihl MS 381 and 070. Based on this research, the work performance of chainsaw MS 381 was 1,42 m3/hour or 11,33 m3/day work and for chainsaw 070 was 1,83 m3/hour or 14,63 m3/day work. Both sthil MS 381 and 070 chainsaw performed similar work effectiveness to finish the felling of mahogany stands. It was clearly proved by their work time and work performance which were not much different.

Abstract

Sugar becomes one of the commodities targeted to achieve Indonesia national food security. Sugar is produced from sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.), extensive plantations require effective and efficient handling and low cost. Remote sensing is a technology that is considered appropriate to answer those needs, through remote sensing image can be analyzed to the physical condition of sugar cane plant based on the spectral response recorded on the image. The spectral response captured by the sensor is expected to help analyze this plant in relation to plant growth, plant health, as well as the production of sugar yields in sugarcane. The lack of spectral pattern research, especially the in situ spectral pattern that is used as a reference for remote sensing data analysis, makes this research important to do. Bantul Regency is a region that has a large agricultural area, including sugar cane plantation. The method used in this research is digital data processing on remote sensing image to be analyzed spectral pattern especially in sugarcane which then compared with data of spectral pattern of sugar cane which is measured directly in the field using spectrophotometer. Spectral patterns obtained from two sources are then analyzed to determine the agility of sugarcane. The result of this research is give description about spectral pattern characteristic or reflectance pattern in sugar cane plant so it can be used for mapping of sugar cane plantation. The Sugar cane Plant reflected curve from the field measurements by spectrophotometer is noticeably smoother and has more wavelengths than the reflected curves of the Landsat 8 OLI Image. The distribution of sugar cane plant based on the spectral reflectance pattern of the object of field measurement is more relevant than the distribution of sugarcane based on the spectral reflection pattern of the object from Landsat 8 OLI Image. The classification of the field measurement spectral library and the Landsat 8 OLI Image shows that the spectral library of field measurements is better to serve as the basis for spectral-based mapping than the sampled spectral libraries in Landsat 8 OLI Image.

Abstract

Field mapping is important to know the potential of agricultural productivity in a region.Furthermore, field mapping can also be used to predict crops in a region. The mapping can be donethrough aerial photographs. Aerial photographs can be performed using manned aerial vehicle aswell as unmanned aerial vehicle. Currently, many aerial photographs are taken using unmannedaerial vehicle because the cost is much more affordable than using a manned aerial vehicle. One typeof unmanned aircraft used for aerial photographs is quadcopter. However taking aerial photographsusing a quadcopter often produces blurry images due to its instability. Instability of the quadcopter iscaused by several factors including sensor readings such as IMU, GPS, compass, and barometer,disturbance factors such as angina, and control systems that are less robust to quadcopter characters.To get a stable quadcopter, a control system that matches the quadcopter character and has aresistance to interference is needed. One of the control systems that can be applied to the quadcopteris the Robust PID control system. Reliability of the control system can be seen using ITAE (IntegralTime Absolute Error). The smaller the value of ITAE the better the control system. Some tuningmethods are done to get the Robust PID control system. The method used in this research is ZieglerNicols, fine tuned PID controller, and ITAE tuning method. The result of PID constant tuning is thenimplemented to quadcopter. In this study the response data was obtained by using IMU sensor. Theresult shows that of the three tuning methods implemented in the quadcopter, the Fine tuning methodgives better results than the others.

Abstract

UAV ini memiliki banyak kelebihan diantaranya, pesawat ini dapat digunakan untuk menjalankanmisi yang berbahaya ataupun misi rahasia. Salah satu misi UAV yang paling sering digunakan adalahpemantauan kondisi di suatu tempat. Pemantau kondisi lingkungan dari udara dengan menggunakanUnmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) yang dilengkapi dengan kamera diperlukan suatu perangkat lunakyang mampu mengirimkan data ke Ground Control Station(GCS). GCS juga dapat digunakan untukmengirimkan perintah. Dalam penelitian ini perintah yang dikirim adalah perintah autopilot. Perintahautopilot ini sangat penting dalam misi pemantauan. Perintah ini digunakan untuk mengarahkan UAVke suatu posisi yang ingin dipantau. Data perintah yang dikirim berupa titik koordinat garis bujur danlintang tujuan. Untuk mengaktifkan autopilot tersebut diperlukan suatu sistem pengiriman perintahdari GCS. Sehingga setelah data diterima oleh UAV, maka UAV mampu memroses data yangdiperlukan dan menjalankan perintah autopilot berdasarkan data perintah yang telah dikirim dalam halini khususnya quadcopter. Beberapa tahun terakhir, para software developers mengalihkan perhatiankepada pembuatan aplikasi mobile, salah satunya adalah android. Perangkat mobile lebih mudahdibawa untuk perjalanan. Penelitian ini akan mengembangkan GCS seperti pada berbasis PCberdasarkan pada platform android, dan dikombinasikan dengan perangkat layar sentuh android.Penelitian ini akan diujicobakan menggunakan fasilitas laboratorium Elektronika dan InstrumentasiVokasi UGM.

Abstract

Electrical appliances in industrial and residential are now much inductive, consequently causing thepower factor value less than 1 (one), so the power capacity installed to the customer is not optimal.Power factor improvements are needed to improve the efficiency of active power usage so that it canbe maximized. To overcome this, a device is made to automatically improve the power factor due toinductive load changes, ie by installing capacitors in parallel to the source automatically using anArduino-controlled switch when the power factor value is less than 0.85. The test results show that thispower factor repair system is working automatically, real time and recorded on microSD. The powerfactor value can be up to 0.92 with 4.5 μF to 18 μF capacitors at inductive loads of 40 W to 225 Wwith error at 7.06% current sensor, 0.50% sensor, cos phi sensor 4.20%. All measurements aredisplayed on the LCD and recorder on SDCard.
